About James
I am a Masters graduate from Western Sydney University. Though my degree was in Social Science (Psychology), I have been preparing to return to university to complete a doctorate in neuroeconomics. I have spent the last few years training myself in economics to prepare myself for my future studies. While I do not possess a formal qualification in economics, I am now widely read and highly competent in the field.

First and foremost, I aim to teach students how to think like economists do. My focus is primarily upon teaching students 'how' to think, rather than 'what' to think. This foundation will make economic concepts much easier to absorb and understand. I avoid unnecessary use of mathematics (apart from graphs and sometimes very simple algebra) whenever the concepts can be taught in plain-English, explaining even complex economic concepts in accessible, everyday language that anyone can understand. I also use simple and real-world examples to illustrate how economic concepts work, which will make what you learn more applicable to everyday life.
My lessons start from the absolute basics and then build up to more advanced concepts, so I am seeking students who either have no previous background in economics, or have only a very limited background in the field (e.g., having completed an economics unit in high school).
If you are someone considering taking up studies in economics, but want to make sure it's the right path for you, then my lessons should be perfect for giving you a sense of what economics is all about.
