I will focus on technique and getting your hands to work together. I also would like to teach with electric guitars, I feel it is easier to play than a big acoustic with all that string tension. But ultimately it is going to be up to the student to practice on their own time if they want to get better. A teacher can only shove so much info at someone before they get discouraged. Stick with the Basics!
