I started playing guitar when I was 13 or 14 on a mini classical. I evolved to electric shortly after.
When i was 14 or 15 I received a bass for Christmas and taught myself all my favourite death metal songs on it. During High School i played in a RHCP cover band, and gavemy friends lessons on how to play the guitar and bass riffs to songs they liked
