About Carolina
Open mic regulars eventually asked how I did what I did, so I started teaching. I am a self-taught player with 9 years of experience gigging across the South. It was a surprising shift to go from the stage to the classroom.
My formal education is the 10 years I spent playing live. I cover tuning and maintenance along with improvisation and soloing.
I also handle grade exam prep plus songwriting and chord transitions or blues progressions. It has been a wild ride since those first questions at the bar. I am just a guy who loves the instrument and wants to see you play well.

Focusing on the live feel is key. You might think it is all about complex theory, but it is just about holding the room.
I keep things raw and honest. My 9 years of gigging taught me that audiences care about the energy you bring.
We work on rhythm and dynamics during our 6 minute warmups. Tuning and maintenance are habits we build early. Improvisation and soloing happen when you stop overthinking the fretboard. It is about playing music that actually sounds like a show.
