About Daniel

I started amateur salsa/bachata classes in 2015 at university and since then I've been performing on stage with national academies in Colombia and competing in salsa/bachata contests. Moved to Montreal last year and I'm looking for people to get to know these charming and wired dances. Winner of Ascun Salsa/Bachata contest in best Salsa group category in 2016, and 3rd place, 2017.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I developed an interest in this art while I was in college. At that time, I wanted to be part of a group and challenge myself with an activity I hadn't tried before. I ended up joining a salsa team and competing against other teams. This sparked my passion for dancing and inspired me to explore activities that combine physical movement and social interaction.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
Dancing is an art form that allows you to express emotions through movement. It has helped me form friendships and connections over the years. It's also an outlet where you can heal and find escape from mental challenges.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
What I love about teaching is seeing the gratitude people express when they learn from me. I enjoy watching them improve and grow in their passion. That's what drives my love for teaching.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
My role model is a Colombian artist named Juan Camilo Diago, a 7-time world salsa champion. He travels the world sharing Colombian salsa, and I admire how he represents our culture through this art form.
What are your keys to success?
Discipline, consistency, respect, and honesty are my keys to success in any field.
