About Miriam
Hi, I’m Miriam, a psychology-informed SEND & SEMH tutor with an MSc in Psychology and 5 years of experience supporting children and young people in education settings.
I particularly enjoy working with autistic learners and students who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, disengaged, or misunderstood in traditional school environments.
I want to teach because I believe every child deserves to feel safe, capable, and genuinely understood while learning. Seeing a student slowly regain confidence, trust, and belief in themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of this work for me.
My approach is calm, flexible, and relationship-based. I adapt sessions to each individual student, combining emotional support with gentle academic encouragement to help learning feel manageable again.

Hi, I’m Miriam Loegering, MSc Psychology, a psychology-informed SEND & SEMH tutor based near Northampton/Rugby.
I have 5 years of experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant and Tutor, supporting children and young people with autism, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, school avoidance, SEMH needs, and PDA-type profiles.
I work particularly well with children who struggle in traditional school environments, become overwhelmed by pressure or demands, or have lost confidence in learning.
My approach is calm, flexible, and relationship-based. I focus first on helping children feel safe, understood, and regulated, because meaningful learning can only happen once trust is there.
Sessions may include:
• emotional regulation & co-regulation
• gentle academic support
• confidence building
• social understanding & life skills
• re-engagement with learning
I combine academic support with an understanding of behaviour, emotional needs, and nervous-system overwhelm, adapting sessions to each child individually.
DBS on the Update Service.
Home-based and online support available.
Feel free to message me for an informal chat if you think your child may benefit.
