About Sophie

Hello! I'm a bilingual (French, English) senior data scientist with a rich international background and diverse interests. Beyond my fluency in multiple languages, I am a proud member of the French Statistical Society and hold certifications in AI engineering (Azure, 2023), data science with Python (DataCamp, 2017), and PI Server OSIsoft (2019). My commitment to lifelong learning is evident not only in my academic credentials but also in my practical teaching experiences, such as delivering courses on AI fundamentals at Bishop University in Canada.

My adventurous spirit has led me to live and work in six countries, gaining experiences ranging from an au pair in the USA to a barista in the UK and a data scientist in Belgium, Singapore, and Canada.

My love for DIY—sewing my own clothes and woodworking—keeps me creatively engaged and grounded.

I'm also undefeated at mario Kart double dash

Title: Empowering Learning: Senior Data Scientist Offers Expertise in Math, Statistics, and Programming

Introduction:
Hello! I'm a senior data scientist with extensive professional experience, currently working in Montreal, Canada. I specialize in mathematics, statistics, and programming, offering tailored tutoring sessions either from my home or in Montreal. My approach is rooted in real-world application, ensuring that my students not only learn, but truly understand and can apply their knowledge effectively.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, relevance, and patience. I believe that complex subjects can be mastered by breaking them down into simpler, manageable components. I use a variety of teaching tools including interactive simulations, real-life examples, and problem-solving sessions that cater to the specific needs and learning styles of my students. I strive to create a supportive learning environment that encourages questions and exploration.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Review and Set Goals
Interactive Teaching - Introduce new concepts using a mix of theoretical explanation and practical examples.
Hands-On Practice - This could be through coding exercises, statistical problem solving, or working through mathematical proofs.
Q&A and Discussion

What Sets Me Apart:
As a seasoned data scientist, I bring a depth of professional experience that enriches the educational experience. I not only teach theoretical concepts but also share insights from the field, discussing how the principles are applied in real data science projects. This approach helps students connect theory with practice, making learning more engaging and effective.

Who Are These Lessons For:
My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners:

Middle, High school and college students who need help with math or are taking their first steps in programming and statistics.
Individuals aiming to enter data science fields and needing to strengthen their foundation in these key areas.
