About Nia
Hi! My name is Nia, and I truly enjoy helping students build confidence in reading and English. I have previous experience as a literacy tutor and have loved seeing students grow in their reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and overall literacy skills. As a senior studying Elementary Education, I understand how important it is to meet each student where they are and support their individual learning style. I work to create a patient and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing new skills, and learning at their own pace. My goal is to help students make meaningful progress while also helping them feel more confident and positive about learning.

My approach as a tutor is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I break skills into manageable steps and use guided practice, repetition, and engaging activities to build confidence and understanding. A typical lesson may include reviewing previous skills, practicing a targeted reading or English concept, and ending with a quick check for understanding. As a senior Elementary Education major with previous experience as a literacy tutor, I bring both hands-on experience and a strong background in reading, literacy, spelling, grammar, and English. My lessons are designed for elementary students who need extra support, skill-building, or confidence in language arts.
