About Seth

When I'm not teaching math or studying for my classes, I love to rock climb at UT's Gym, organize for my university group, and overoptimize my workflow in the software I use for learning. I also like to play video games and watch anime with my little brother.

My long-term goal is to get into a good grad school for machine learning to ensure the safe development of artificial intelligence. AI will transform our society whether we want it to or not.

About the lesson

Hey!

If you truly want to learn math, you must engage with it. The research shows that one-on-one instruction with mastery learning is vastly superior to lectures (called the 2 sigma problem in learning research), and the fundamental reason is that it is more dynamic. If you have problems with homework questions then I can help you solve them, but I want you to understand the underlying process that leads to the result. After explaining a couple of concepts, I will often ask you questions to make sure you understand what I said and clear out any misconceptions. I will monitor your progress and level of growth to determine the difficulty of the material and work up from there.

Like you I am a student, but since I am a senior math major I am equipped to teach math that covers most people's needs. I am willing to work with whatever level you are at, from elementary school to the bachelor's level (Most people don't go beyond Calculus 3).
