About Samundra
This is Samundra Regmi, Research Associate of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Cameron University. Looking towards my research experience, at the beginning, I worked with Dr. Narayan Thapa, Chair and Associate Professor of Mathematics at Cameron University, on research projects that were assigned from a pharmaceutical company and Los Alamos National Lab as a part of Preparation for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences (PIC-MATH). Working as a team-lead on those projects, I was working on Quality Assurance and Computational side of the problem. I had to build a Mathematical Model for drug test and solve the partial differential equations using MATLAB.
During the fall of 2016, I conducted research on the topic of Cryptography under the guidance of Dr. Parshuram Budhathoki at Cameron University. I worked on optimization of algorithms and the software implementation of Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol using Python, where I built a computer program to compute a key in the least time possible. Although Cryptography was an entirely a new topic for me, I learned coding in python and practiced secure communication between two parties through the encryption of messages.
Again, During the fall of 2017, I conducted research on the topic of Quantum Computers. I worked in the design and optimization of Quantum Circuits, for arithmetic operation, over binary field with respect to the gates, depth, and qubits using Python programming language. I have presented my research outcomes at different undergraduate research programs including local, regional, and national conferences such as Cameron University Undergraduate Research Seminar, Annual Technical Meeting of Oklahoma Academy of Science, Texas/Oklahoma Regional Undergraduate Symposium (TORUS), Oklahoma Research Day, OK-AR MAA 2017 Meeting, and Joint Mathematical Meeting, which is the world’s largest mathematical meeting
