About Andrei
I will graduate this spring with a degree in chemistry with an emphasis on biochemistry. I have worked on undergraduate research. In high school, I took AP chemistry and AP biology, along with three other unrelated AP courses. This was while I was participating in two sports throughout all four years. I'm a 3.4 GPA student taking a challenging degree. Whenever my friends had chemistry questions, they would ask me for answers. I would explain their questions and would tell them tricks that would help me recall the information. If something needs to be memorized and there's no way around it, I first like taking quizzes online. Then writing out anything I could remember until I had memorized the material.

About the lesson

Before the session, I would ask what area the student is shaky at. Then make a plan to give an overview of the material, gather some problems, and be prepare for any questions. I am most comfortable tutoring in chemistry, biology, and mathematics. For the lesson, I will first make sure that the student understands basic terminology. After the foundation is set, I will give an overview of the subject. Then I would have some sample problems to work on. While working on the problems, I would ask the student to give an overview of their reasoning. Any misunderstanding would be corrected. The problems will get more difficult as the lesson proceeds. The goal is to build from the bottom up, until the student has a well-rounded understanding. This way, if the more complex problems arise on a test, the student will have all the tools to work through the challenging problem. These lessons will be mostly for students ranging from middle to high school, but can extend to early grade college students.
