About Ophir
Shalom Everybody!
My name is Ophir but my friends call me (Fifi).
I'm originally Israeli, but I grew up in different countries around the world. I love languages and have always been curious to forever expand my knowledge.
I served in the IDF & then became an ELAL flight attendant & continued my adventures around the world. I have a BA in Communications & Visual Content from Reichman University in Herzliya. I have experience teaching English/ Hebrew in the 'Jerusalem Post Light Talk' program. I'm passionate about storytelling and am an aspiring screenplay writer/ filmmaker & love incorporating storytelling in my lessons as well!
I relocated to Los Angeles a few years ago, where I live with my husband Justin & my pup Sasha Sashimi!

I believe that learning a new language is immersing yourself in a completely new culture! It should be a fun experience & that is my teaching approach as well.
I always like to set expectations first! What are your goals for this experience? Would you like to learn conversational Hebrew or written?Do you come with any background in this language? Are you looking to connect to your Judaism more or do you want to make Aliya?
I like to incorporate current events and interests of the person I'm teaching, and I build the lessons accordingly. I mainly focus on beginners, intermediate level students.
I used to teach languages in the Jerusalem Post & am a big believer of that approach of learning through current events! Choosing a different topic fgor each class.
