About Shijin

I am Dr. Shijin Payyappilly, a dedicated Medical Doctor (MD) with over five years of clinical experience in India and a Master of Public Health from London Metropolitan University. My international background, from graduating in Russia to practising in India and studying in the UK, allows me to simplify complex Physiology and Biology for students of all levels. Having taught since a young age, I possess a unique ability to connect with students' mindsets, using enthusiastic, interactive methods to ensure they truly grasp, retain, and master challenging medical sciences with confidence.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that if a student is struggling, the topic hasn't been explained simply enough. Coming from a background in India where I have mentored and taught students since my own youth, I have a deep, intuitive understanding of how a student’s mind works. I know where the "roadblocks" usually are and how to clear them with enthusiasm.

What sets my lessons apart:

The "Easy-Recall" Method: I don’t just deliver a lecture; I translate complex medical and biological topics into simple, relatable concepts. My goal is for you to understand a topic so well that you can explain it back to me without looking at your notes.

Active Engagement & Questioning: My classes are interactive. Expect to be challenged! I use strategic questioning throughout the lesson to keep you engaged and to ensure the information is being retained, not just heard. This builds the confidence you need for high-pressure exams.

The Doctor’s Perspective: Because I have practised medicine for over 5 years, I bring Physiology and Cellular Biology to life with clinical stories. When you see how a cell works in the context of a real patient, you won't just "learn" it—you will remember it forever.

Deep-Dive Depth: While I make things easy to understand, we do not skim the surface. We go into the depth required for A-Level A grades or University-level honours*, ensuring you have a rock-solid foundation for your future medical or science career.

My Goal: To take the "fear" out of subjects like Physiology and Biology and replace it with genuine enthusiasm and academic success.
