About Peter
Improvisation and soloing represent the most misunderstood aspects of modern acoustic playing. I hold a BM Popular Music from Southern California and have spent 13 years performing at venues throughout the South. My teaching style integrates music theory with reading tabs and grade exam prep, ensuring you master barre chords and fingerpicking patterns.
Keeping an instrument in top shape is just as important as playing it, so we cover tuning and maintenance as well. I hope you find the process as rewarding as I do.

A typical hour feels like a casual jam session rather than a rigid classroom experience. 10 specific acoustic techniques are emphasized to help you bridge the gap between simple chords and complex song arrangements.
I apply my degree background to demonstrate how rhythm guitar supports melody in a live setting. We examine how individual song parts function within a larger piece while focusing on clean transitions and stylistic dynamics. Playing should feel like a conversation between your fingers and the wood of the guitar. When you start to hear the music emerge from your practice, the hard work becomes truly enjoyable.
