About Amy
Kia ora! I’m Amy, aka Raging Flowers, an award-winning singer-songwriter based in Pakuranga, East Auckland.
I write, sing, and produce my own music under the artist name, Raging Flowers. As an indie pop artist, I’m known for my clever lyrics, emotional warmth, and honest songs. My sound blends indie pop with influences from folk punk, indie rock, jazz, and blues. My music is about dealing with difficult emotions while finding humour in life’s challenges.
As someone who had to overcome confidence issues to perform music, I work well with people who are looking to overcome performance anxiety or the fear of using their voices. I also work well with neurodivergent kids and adults. I have ADHD, which gives me a high level of sensitivity and empathy that helps me connect with people with special needs.
My main instrument is the electric guitar. I have been privately taught by Auckland guitarist Tam Scholes for over 10 years, and I have received vocal training from American-born singer-songwriter Jennifer K. Austin. I love to write songs, play guitar, produce music, and sing. I’m a working artist who loves to perform and share the passion.
As an artist, I’m best known for my emotionally authentic yet funny brand of songwriting. My song Tissue Paper won first prize in the Brisbane-based international arts competition Out From The Mist in 2024. Many of my songs have received international radio airplay and licensing representation. One of my songs has charted on the New Zealand RadioScope Alternative Airplay chart.

Amy Wang, aka, Raging Flowers is a prize-winning singer-songwriter. She is privately taught by Auckland musicians in guitar, singing, and songwriting.
She teaches all ages and levels, from complete beginners to experienced musicians wanting to start their songwriting journies. She also hosts community songwriting workshops in Auckland. She is passionate, patient and friendly. She's most popular with girls wanting to play guitar and sing.
