About Tristan
Why I Teach: I can’t emphasise enough how valuable my recent GCSE experience is for my students. Unlike many tutors, I actually sat these exams last year, achieving 9s in Maths and Physics and 1 mark off a 9 in Biology. That means I know exactly how the specification looks right now, what examiners are assessing, and what content truly matters. Because I was in your position less than a year ago, I understand the stress, the pressure, and the confusion around what to revise. I also know what’s genuinely efficient and what’s just pointless, rarely-assessed content that wastes time. My goal is to guide you through the methods that actually secure high marks, not overload you with unnecessary information. Being so close to the GCSE experience myself allows me to teach in a way that’s relevant, up-to-date, and proven to work — and that’s what sets me apart.

My Tutoring Approach: As a current sixth-form student studying Maths, Physics and Biology at A-Level, I teach GCSE students using the exact methods that helped me jump from a grade 6 to a high 9 in Maths within a year, secure a 9 in Physics, and score just one mark off a 9 in Biology. How I Teach: My teaching is built on efficiency and clarity. I focus on: - Understanding exactly what the specification requires - Cutting out wasted time on topics that rarely appear - Breaking down ideas into simple, exam-focused steps - Teaching students how to use mark schemes properly (especially powerful for Biology) - Helping them build confidence, not just more notes Since I’ve recently been through GCSEs myself, I know what works, what doesn’t, and how boring revision can feel — so my lessons are engaging and heavily focused on making strong progress while always working with your current skill set and progressing at a pace worthy of the time frame. Experience & Strengths: I’ve personally transformed my grades through smart strategy, not “natural talent,” and I know how to guide students who feel stuck or overwhelmed. I’m familiar with IGCSE Edexcel content and understand exactly how to push students to reach their potential in a short time. Who My Lessons Are For IGCSE Edexcel students are my main audience due to my experience and familiarity with the specification however I am able to teach students of all abilities — whether aiming to secure key grades or push into the top bands.
