About Nilam Pratim
With a strong academic foundation and diverse professional experience, I am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students. I hold a B.E. in Computer Science from JSSATE, Bangalore, and a Master’s in Software Engineering from San Jose State University, California. My industry experience includes roles as an Android Developer at a startup, a research intern at PARC, Palo Alto, and an Android Framework Engineer at Faraday Future in San Jose, CA. Throughout my career, I have built end-to-end applications and systems across multiple platforms—ranging from mobile devices and multifunctional printers to infotainment systems for electric vehicles—working effectively in cross-cultural teams. These experiences have equipped me with a practical, real-world perspective that I bring into my teaching. I am passionate about giving back to the community by sharing my knowledge in a clear, approachable manner. My teaching style is methodical yet flexible, focused on motivating students and making complex concepts accessible through real-world examples. I welcome college students and anyone with a basic programming background who is eager to deepen their understanding of data structures and algorithms.
