About Jake

I am an Excel tutor with over 2 years of experience helping learners develop practical, applied spreadsheet skills. My teaching focuses on computational thinking, workflow optimization, and analytical problem-solving.

I have guided students, researchers, and professionals in building dashboards, automating workflows with VBA, and cleaning and visualizing datasets. Lessons cover advanced formulas, scenario modeling, and project-driven applications.

I also emphasize presenting insights clearly, so data can be interpreted and acted upon effectively. Hands-on projects and real datasets reinforce learning. Efficiency, clarity, and analytical reasoning are key themes.

About the lesson

My Excel teaching method is centered on hands-on learning and real-world problem solving. Instead of memorizing steps, students learn how to apply Excel tools in practical situations. The learning environment is relaxed and supportive so students can grow their confidence gradually.

We begin with core spreadsheet skills such as data entry, formatting, and simple formulas. As students become comfortable, we explore functions, sorting, filtering, and charts. Understanding the purpose of each tool is an important part of my teaching. Students practice through guided exercises that build their problem-solving ability. I provide extra support to learners who want to improve their spreadsheet efficiency.

More advanced topics like pivot tables, dashboards, and visual reporting are introduced step by step. Students also create small projects to practice organizing and presenting information. This helps them connect Excel skills with real tasks.

The goal is to help learners feel comfortable working with data and using Excel confidently in many different situations.
