About Tessa
I am a passionate piano tutor with over 15+ years of experience teaching students of all ages, from school children to college students and working professionals. I believe learning piano is not just about playing notes but about understanding music, building confidence, and expressing creativity.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, clear communication, and personalized instruction. I take time to understand each student’s goals, strengths, and challenges, and design a lesson plan that helps them progress step by step. I emphasize strong fundamentals such as finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, and sight-reading before introducing advanced concepts. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to provide a complete musical education.
I also use song-based practice and creative exercises to make lessons enjoyable and engaging. My strength is breaking down complex concepts into simple steps that students can easily understand. I also focus on developing effective practice habits and discipline to ensure consistent progress.
My goal is to create a positive, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel confident and inspired to achieve their musical potential.

Through clear communication, I understand each student’s goals, strengths, and learning style, which allows me to design lessons that are personalized, effective, and inspiring.
Creativity is at the heart of my approach. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and explore various musical styles, fostering originality, artistic confidence, and self-expression. Flexibility ensures lessons are adapted to the student’s pace, skill level, and preferred learning style, creating a smooth, productive, and rewarding learning experience.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This methodology strengthens technical proficiency, expressive skills, and musical understanding. My aim is to cultivate confident, creative, and lifelong musicians.
