About Steve
I have a Master of Music degree (with high distinction) from Indiana University. I have performed with the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, Lena Horne, Joan Sutherland and many freelance professional orchestras in New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas, and North Carolina.
I have taught students from elementary class band instruments to graduate level music performance.
Math has always been a special interest of mine, and I received top grades in college-level Calculus and Analytic Geometry.

Learning math and learning music go hand in hand. I might start with helping a student perform simple rhythm patterns. Then we might measure the distance between notes in half-steps, practicing not only the math involved, but also developing ear training. I have many tricks up my sleeve to make the process fun. I'm patient, and if one strategy doesn't work, we'll find another.
My students are usually fourth graders through eighth graders. We start by exploring both math and music, and shift emphasis to on or the other depending on the student's needs and preferences.
