About Rosie
I am an experienced violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students develop technical proficiency, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, bowing, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with technical precision, musicality, and emotion.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students develop a well-rounded understanding of music.
I personalise lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment that encourages growth, exploration, and artistic development. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to foster technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are fully customised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, blending structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation is at the core of my teaching. I help students set clear goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements, fostering engagement, perseverance, and self-confidence. Students learn to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow, developing resilience along with technical skill.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, giving students a space to ask questions, express concerns, and share musical ideas freely. This builds trust and enhances learning outcomes.
Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, helping students develop a unique artistic voice while connecting emotionally with music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that promote consistent growth and long-term excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a comprehensive and well-rounded musical education. My methodology nurtures technical skill, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
