About Fred
I was a partner at two leading Toronto law firms—one a boutique litigation practice, the other an international corporate firm. I also hold an LL.M. and have taught at both the law school and college levels.
What sets me apart from younger instructors is my experience. I've spent years in courtrooms, boardrooms, and classrooms, tackling real-world legal problems and helping others master them. That experience allows me to teach beyond the textbook. I show students how to think critically, connect ideas, spot patterns, and develop the analytical skills that drive success.
If you're looking for more than formulas and shortcuts—if you want to understand the material deeply and learn how top professionals approach complex problems—I'd be delighted to help.

Why Is the LSAT So Hard?
Because it doesn't test what you know—it tests how you think.
The LSAT challenges three core skills:
Deep reading comprehension
Powerful logical reasoning
Sharp argument analysis
These are the very skills lawyers rely on every day, yet they're rarely taught in school. That's why so many bright students struggle.
Then there's the clock.
The LSAT is relentless. Dense Reading Comprehension passages. Tricky Logical Reasoning questions. Thirty-five minutes of nonstop mental intensity. It's designed to push you to your limit.
But here's the secret: the LSAT isn't about intelligence—it's about strategy.
I'll teach you how to think like a lawyer, spot the test makers' traps, and attack every question with confidence. Drawing on years as a litigation lawyer, law professor, and LSAT tutor, I'll show you the reasoning techniques and test strategies that separate average scores from exceptional ones.
Stop guessing. Start thinking like a top scorer.
Whether your goal is 160, 165, or 170+, I'll help you unlock your potential and walk into test day with confidence.

Perfect! Excellent LSAT tutor! Fred was very knowledgeable, patient, and explained complex concepts in a very clear way. His strategies greatly improved my score and boosted my confidence. I highly recommend him to anyone preparing for the LSAT!
Perfect! Fred is a fantastic LSAT tutor for a variety of reasons, not least of which being he's fantastic to speak to. But more importantly, he is incredibly capable at explaining the underlying LSAT concepts themselves, and helping one apply them to the questions and material more broadly that makes up the LSAT.
Perfect! Fred is much more than a tutor. He provides mentorship on all the theoretical and practical aspects of what it means to be a lawyer. While his qualifications speak for themselves, his rich experience truly shines in person. His dedication to my improvement far exceeded my expectations. In short, I highly recommend Fred whether you are struggling in law school or seeking to improve from an average student to an excellent one.

Perfect! I have been taking lessons from Sir Frederick Sagel for personal injury law and civil litigation. Sir Fred has vast experience and enormous knowledge on the litigation aspect of personal injury cases. He has commendable teaching skills. He guides me on the civil procedure step by step.
