About Alana
Hi! I’m Alana, a Real Estate and Finance student at Southern Methodist University with a 3.8 GPA. I’m also a BBA Scholar and actively involved in organizations like Alpha Chi Omega and Women in Finance at SMU
I have a strong passion for learning and teaching a wide range of subjects, including math, history, English, economics, and psychology. I especially enjoy working with elementary through high school students and helping them build confidence while improving their understanding.
I have experience tutoring and supporting students academically, and I focus on explaining concepts in a clear, step-by-step way that actually makes sense. I adapt to each student’s learning style and make sure they feel comfortable asking questions and staying engaged.
I am reliable, organized, and always come prepared with a structured plan tailored to each student’s goals—whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or strengthening foundational skills. My goal is to create a supportive and professional environment where students can make consistent progress and feel confident in their abilities.

Hi! I’m Alana, a Real Estate and Finance student at Southern Methodist University, and my goal is to make learning feel simple, clear, and way less overwhelming. I combine strong academics with real-world perspective, and I focus on helping students understand how to think—not just memorize answers.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and tailored to each student. I break concepts down step-by-step, use clear examples, and adjust based on how you learn best.
A typical lesson starts with what you’re working on, then we go through the concept together, practice it, and make sure you can do it independently. I like to reinforce learning with small challenges, practice questions, or discussions. I always end with a quick recap so you leave feeling confident.
What sets me apart is that I connect what you’re learning to real-life applications while keeping sessions supportive and productive. I’m reliable, adaptable, and focused on helping you actually improve.
I work with elementary through high school students in a range of subjects including math, history, economics, English, creative writing, and psychology—whether you need help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead.
