When I began working in social care I had no experience. I had completed a level 6 SNA part time course and started working in a residential service as a care worker. I was extremely nervous and very unexperienced. Tanya was my team lead at the time and supported me in ways that would not be expected. She worked closely with me and made me feel that I could do the role better than anyone. As my confidence grew and my love for the role grew I wanted to progress. I was never an academic person but new I needed to complete a level 7 to progress to team lead. Tanya offered to tutor me and help me. Tanya was extremely patient and always made me feel that I was able and explained things to me in a way I would understand. I am not in the team lead role nearly 2 years and completed my level 7 and I can honestly say I would not have got there without Tanya as my tutor.
