After a 13 year sabbatical I took calculus to suffice my math requirement even though I only needed basic math. While working FT and raising 3 kids I passed the class. I believe anyone can learn, sometimes we need to change the approach. My 17 yr old has struggled with academics, I believe the standard cookie cutter curriculum only works for some people. I have always told my child that school is based around the curriculum not the student, but the best parents and teachers know that adapting their parenting and teaching style to conform to the child works. I have 3 kids and I always say I am one mom, with one personality, and my own way of thinking, but to do this right Ihave to be 3 moms to three different people and use the punishments, rewards, parenting, and love that each of my individual children respond to. I have to know them at their core to raise them.
