About Prerna
Hi, I’m Prerna — an English educator and PhD scholar who has always been fascinated by the stories behind people, societies and cultures.
My approach to Social Studies is a little different. I don’t see History and Civics as subjects that are meant to be memorized. I like exploring them through **stories, films, web series, current events, popular culture and everyday experiences**.
Why did a society behave the way it did? How did a historical event shape the world we live in today? What can a movie or a news story tell us about culture, politics and society?
These are the kinds of questions we explore together.
I enjoy making lessons conversational, visual and thought-provoking, while also helping students build strong conceptual understanding, answer-writing skills and confidence.

# Social Studies Made Interesting — Through Stories, Films & Real Life
Do you find History, Civics or Social Studies difficult because there are too many dates, names and facts to remember?
Let’s change that.
I teach Social Studies through **stories, films, current events, visual material and real-world connections**. Instead of simply memorising a chapter, we explore *why* historical events happened, how societies changed, and how the past continues to shape the world we live in.
We can decode scenes from movies and web series, explore historical events through stories, discuss culture and society, and connect classroom concepts to contemporary life.
My classes focus on understanding rather than rote learning, while also helping students improve their answer writing, vocabulary, critical thinking and ability to express ideas clearly.
Whether you need help with History, Civics, Culture, Society or Humanities, my goal is to make the subject **interesting, relatable and easier to remember**.
**Because Social Studies isn't just about what happened. It's about understanding why it still matters.**
