About Perry
Hello, my name is Perry, and I am a sophomore at the University of Nevada- Reno. I am a Social work major minoring in human development. I have eight years of experience working with children. I worked at a private learning center(daycare / private Pre-k & Kinder) for 2 years as a school-age teacher. My favorite part of that job was starting with kids who couldn't spell or write their names, in six weeks they could do both. Being able to watch the kids who aren't the best at reading learn that they are amazing at math. Watching them see their improvement is the best thing you can see. :)

Reading is a very hard subject because you have to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of each child based off of the abilities they already have. I usually start with the simplest of simple and see what they can read as well as what they comprehend and go up from there.
In mathematics, I try my best to figure out the children's learning style, whether it's auditory, visual, kinesthetic, or read/writing instructions. Once that's figured out then we can try our best to understand the subject.
My goal for each kid I help tutor is to not only to get them to catch up, or to get them right on track with their class but to get them even a bit ahead.
