About Elle

Hello! I’m Elle, and I’m really glad you’re here. I know that choosing a tutor is a big decision, and I want to help make that choice feel easy and reassuring. I hold a degree in Sociology and Criminology, as well as a Certificate of Higher Education in Media and Communications. I’m passionate about these subjects because they help us understand the world and our place in it—and I love helping students make those connections in ways that feel engaging and empowering. Although I’m new to formal tutoring, I’ve worked with young people and students in various roles, including educational and mentoring settings. I’ve supported learners one-on-one and in small groups, helping them gain confidence, improve their academic skills, and enjoy their subjects more. I know what it’s like to feel unsure or overwhelmed by coursework or exams, and I also know how much of a difference the right support can make. I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others succeed. Whether we’re building your understanding from the ground up or aiming for top grades, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you forward in a way that works for you. Every student is different—so I take the time to understand your learning style, strengths, and goals. I’m reliable, approachable, and always well-prepared. You can expect our lessons to be structured, friendly, and focused on helping you make real progress. This is a space where it’s okay to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow with support. Most importantly, I want you to leave each lesson feeling more confident—not just in the subject, but in yourself.

About the lesson

I am new to formal tutoring but bring a strong academic background and a passion for education. I hold a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Criminology, and a Certificate of Higher Education in Media and Communications. These subjects have developed my critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills—all of which I aim to pass on to my students. In previous roles, I’ve supported children and young people in educational and mentoring settings, helping them to engage with learning in a way that suits them. I am also continuously expanding my toolkit through self-directed training and lesson planning. Who My Lessons Are For My lessons are suited to: • KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students studying Sociology, Criminology, or Media Studies • Students looking to develop essay writing skills, structure arguments, or build academic confidence • Adult learners returning to education or taking access courses Whether the goal is to build foundational understanding, catch up on missed content, or stretch towards higher grades, I’m committed to adapting my teaching to meet each student’s unique needs.
