About Grant
Hi, I'm Grant! I hold a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Texas Tech University and have been working professionally in software development since 2022.
My professional experience includes C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and developing and maintaining internal web applications. I've worked on everything from debugging existing systems to improving applications and building new functionality.
I know programming can feel overwhelming when you're first getting started. There are so many unfamiliar concepts, and sometimes a single error message can leave you stuck for hours. My goal is to make those concepts easier to understand and help you develop the problem-solving skills to work through challenges independently.
I specialize in helping beginners with C#, introductory programming concepts, object-oriented programming, and SQL. I aim to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where you're comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at your own pace.
Whether you're taking your first programming course or just getting started with coding, I'd be happy to help you build a stronger foundation!

My tutoring approach is hands-on, patient, and tailored to each student's experience level. I believe programming is best learned by writing code, experimenting, making mistakes, and understanding how to solve problems rather than simply memorizing syntax.
I hold a Master's degree in Software Engineering and work professionally as a software engineer, primarily using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL. I enjoy breaking down complicated programming concepts into smaller, more manageable steps and connecting what students learn in class to practical examples.
**How my lessons work:**
Before a lesson, I encourage students to share the topics they're studying or specific concepts they're struggling with. This allows me to prepare relevant examples and tailor the session to their needs.
During our lesson, we'll typically start by reviewing the concept, walk through an example together, and then work on a similar problem where the student takes the lead. I use screen sharing, live coding, and guided debugging to help students build confidence and develop their own problem-solving skills.
I can also help students understand error messages, identify bugs, and learn how to approach unfamiliar programming problems independently.
**Who my lessons are for:**
My lessons are primarily intended for beginners and students taking introductory programming courses, particularly those learning C#, object-oriented programming, or SQL. Whether you're learning to write your first program, struggling with loops and methods, or trying to understand classes and objects, I'll work with you at your own pace.
My goal is to help you leave each session with a clearer understanding of the material and the confidence to tackle similar problems on your own.
