About Benjamin
Hello, my name is Ben, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics. Alongside my academic background, I have several years of experience studying advanced mathematics and physics, as well as prior experience working directly with students as a Calculus III Learning Assistant.
I understand that math and science can often feel frustrating or overwhelming, especially when concepts begin building on one another quickly. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them develop confidence and a stronger understanding of the material itself. I place a strong emphasis on patience, communication, and adapting lessons to each student’s individual learning style.
Students and parents can expect a professional, supportive, and structured learning environment. I approach tutoring with reliability and preparation, ensuring that lessons are organized, productive, and focused on the student’s goals. Whether a student needs help catching up in class, preparing for exams, strengthening foundational skills, or working through difficult assignments, I aim to make the learning process approachable and manageable.
My background in mathematics, physics, and software engineering has taught me how to break complex problems into clear, logical steps. I believe this ability to explain difficult concepts in a straightforward and understandable way is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor.

I am a Software Engineering student with a minor in Applied Mathematics and several years of experience studying advanced mathematics and physics. I also previously worked as a Calculus III Learning Assistant, where I helped students understand difficult concepts, work through problems step-by-step, and build confidence in their abilities.
My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I believe students learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, explain their thought process, and break complex problems into smaller, manageable steps. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, whether they require help strengthening foundational skills, preparing for exams, completing homework, or developing stronger problem-solving techniques.
A typical lesson usually begins by reviewing any questions or topics the student is struggling with. From there, we work through guided examples together before transitioning into independent practice where I provide support and feedback as needed. I also like to connect mathematical and scientific concepts to practical applications whenever possible so students can better understand why the material matters.
What sets me apart is my combination of technical knowledge, patience, and ability to communicate challenging concepts clearly. My background in software engineering, mathematics, and physics allows me to approach problems analytically while still explaining them in a way that is approachable and understandable for students at different skill levels.
Lessons are available for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students. Subjects include general mathematics, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Physics, and related STEM coursework. I welcome students who are looking to improve grades, prepare for future coursework, strengthen foundational understanding, or gain more confidence in math and science.
