About Minami
Minami is a solo and collaborative pianist who graduated from the University of Southern California, Irvine with a Bachelors in Piano Performance in 2024.
At UCI, she has served as the piano accompanist for the ballet class and the UCI Choir, having lots of experience working with other people.
She has always loved playing piano and has years of experience working with kids as she has also worked at an elementary school in the past. She works well with people of all ages.
She started piano at the age of 5 under the tutelage of Naomi Ozawa. Since then, Minami has excelled in numerous competitions, receiving first place in competitions such as the Junior Bach Festival, SYMF, JMAC Lighthouse, Scholarship Audition, Composers Today, and MTAC Concerto Competition. She also has a Certificate of Merit up to Panel (after level 10).

I have students from ages 7-70. I try to focus on not just teaching but also building a personal relationship with my students and getting to know them! I cater towards each student’s learning style and try to make it fun and interactive. A typical lesson will include going over the basics using method books, and then a song of their choice (any genre! Whether that is Disney songs, pop songs, anime/ movie soundtracks, I can teach anything) and some music theory as well.
