About Erik
I am a dedicated Guitar tutor with more than 9 years of experience teaching college students. I believe guitar learning should be practical, enjoyable, and motivating.
My teaching style is interactive and encouraging. I listen carefully to students’ goals and challenges and plan lessons that match their needs. I focus on steady progress and strong basics.
I use innovative methods such as real-song learning, rhythm training, and guided practice routines. Students learn chord progressions, strumming patterns, fingerstyle techniques, and timing step by step. I also include creative exercises to improve musical expression.
Music theory is explained in a simple and useful way and applied directly on the guitar. I also encourage improvisation and ear training to build confidence and creativity.
I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to practice. My goal is to help college students become confident guitar players who enjoy music.

I teach Guitar with a focus on creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability. I believe learning music should be both enjoyable and empowering. Lessons include improvisation, creating original pieces, and exploring various musical styles, encouraging students to express themselves fully.
Critical thinking is central to my approach. I help students understand chord progressions, scales, and rhythm patterns so they can analyze songs, improvise, and solve musical challenges independently.

In addition to Guitar, I teach music theory, ear training, songwriting, and performance skills. Each lesson is customized to the student’s level, pace, and interests, making learning engaging and effective.
My aim is to mentor students into confident, creative, and independent musicians who enjoy exploring and expressing music for life.
