About Peter
I've been teaching piano full time for several years now. I've taught all ages from 4 up to 104 (or not quite perhaps!) I did my Grade 8 piano in school and went on to study composition at university. I also play guitar and sing in a band that goes by my own name, Peter Martin - 'Start Us Again' check it out :)

There are many ways to write a song. One can start with the lyrics or the music; start with the melody or the chords; start on the piano or the guitar etc. I've been writing songs for a couple of decades now and there's no magic formula for writing a good one but if you don't try you never will! I let my students take the lead and just use my experience to help guide the process and provide the technical understanding to bring the songs together.

My 13 year old son has been having piano lessons with Peter for nearly 2 years now and absolutely loves them! Peter helps him with new contemporary music and has also helped him through his Grade 2 exam which he has just passed.
