About Jacob

Hi reader. I'm Jacob and I have studied Maths, Physics, and Engineering at Sixth Form. I have carried these on through university within Mechanical Engineering. I am a sporty, happy, and patient individual with 10 years teaching and coaching experience. I apply my knowledge of engineering within Formula Student, which is a university-led society group to design optimised race cars and race in time-trial events. I am a lead of the mechanical structure and aerodynamic groups, with my personal workload also falling within coding and computing and the electrical group. Motorsport is a passion of mine but my lifelong goal is working within renewable energy, and I will be beginning a fusion engineering role in September which sees a lot of applied thinking and creating simulations and designs from scratch. Outside of academics, I am a triathlete and make time for some gaming and reading which is a must for anyone wanting to achieve highly within STEM.

About the lesson

I have tutored family and friends across SATs, GCSE, A-level, and university work within STEM to achieve top marks. Lessons can range from one-two hours on your preference. I enjoy teaching via presentation slides to cover the main content with linking questions throughout. I cover a range of questions ranging from simply applying equations to deriving your own equations based on taught knowledge to open-ended questions, testing your intuitive understanding of the content. Teaching would be aimed at individuals wanting to achieve higher grades instead of just passing quality. My approach is also very patient with questions encouraged throughout.
