About Lily

With 13 years of drumming experience and a Master’s in Percussion Performance, I offer a rich and comprehensive teaching approach. I’ve toured internationally with various ensembles and bands. These experiences influence my teaching philosophy. My lessons focus on musical discipline as well as creative expression. Students learn to control dynamics, phrasing, and timing. I help learners understand rhythm as both a technical and emotional language. My approach includes traditional exercises, modern grooves, and improvisational work. I believe in developing the whole musician, not just the drummer. Students receive structured practice plans to track progress. I encourage consistent improvement without overwhelming pressure. My lessons are tailored to each student’s level and learning style. I enjoy working with beginners, intermediates, and advanced players. I emphasize positive reinforcement and clear instruction. Students also learn performance preparation and stage confidence. My environment is friendly, motivating, and musically inspiring. I strive to help students become expressive, confident drummers. Teaching music continues to bring me deep fulfillment.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are designed to develop students’ technical skills, musicality, and ability to perform confidently in ensembles and collaborative settings. Each lesson is customized to the student’s level and goals, whether mastering basic rhythms, refining advanced techniques, or preparing for auditions and live performances. Lessons cover timing, hand independence, stick control, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing.

I incorporate song practice, improvisation, play-alongs, and group exercises to build practical performance skills. Students receive guidance on practice routines, goal setting, and tracking progress to ensure consistent improvement. My teaching environment is supportive, positive, and motivating, allowing learners to experiment and develop their own style. Lessons emphasize listening skills, musical awareness, and ensemble communication, helping students collaborate effectively with other musicians. Students gradually develop technical precision, coordination, rhythmic adaptability, and expressive ability. Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and reinforce growth. Lessons balance structured learning with creative exploration, encouraging artistic development.
