About Sara

I am a Spanish teacher for non-native speakers. I studied the bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Applied Languages (English and German) in Madrid (Spain), a master's degree in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics in Leiden (The Netherlands) and another master's degree in teaching Spanish as a Second Language in Madrid. I have been awarded with a Fulbright scholarship and I have been teaching Spanish for undergraduate students in Wabash College (Indiana, USA). Apart from that, I have taught at Cervantes Institute in Moscow (Russia) and to Chinese students in Madrid (Spain).

About the lesson

I based my lessons on my students' needs, that is, I talk to them and check what the best learning method for them is and from there, I develop the lessons. Yet, if a student is unsure, my approach to teaching is mainly communicative with the support of grammar explanations. I focus on the student's ability to communicate in Spanish in any situation that might arise. I also build on previous knowledge, meaning that what I teach, we will always review it and reuse it. As for the content, I use contemporary material, daily news and literary content if the student is interested in culture. I try to make the lessons as fun as possible so that learning is facilitated.
