About Marta

Hi! I'm Marta, a certified Spanish teacher (ELE) from Barcelona.
I'm a native Spanish and Catalan speaker with a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

I specialise in helping adult learners improve their Spanish through conversation in a relaxed but structured way.

My students are often professionals or language lovers who want to:

- speak more naturally

- discuss interesting topics

-expand vocabulary

- gain confidence speaking Spanish

I speak English and French, so I can easily help beginners when needed.

My goal is to create engaging, thoughtful conversations that help you actually use Spanish in real life.

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on communication and real-life Spanish. We’ll talk about topics that genuinely interest you, practice everyday situations, and build confidence so you can use Spanish outside the classroom.

Classes are informal, interactive, and personalized — more like a friendly conversation than a traditional lesson. I’ll guide you, correct mistakes gently, and give you the tools to express yourself with ease.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, brushing up on grammar, or looking to improve fluency, I’ll adapt the pace and materials to you.

Lessons are held online via webcam.

Each session focuses on conversation, vocabulary expansion and natural Spanish, often using news articles or current topics to create engaging discussions.

I also offer structured preparation for DELE, GCSE and A-Level Spanish exams, including speaking practice and exam strategies.

The 30-minute free lesson is used to:

- understand your goals

- assess your level

- explain how we can work together.

Thanks to my origins I can teach you Spanish as it is. I am all the way from Barcelona and I love to share not only how to learn this language but also discover its culture like a local
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
If there ever was a patron saint of Barcelona for me it would have been Antoni Gaudí. While most people are familiar with his colourful mosaics, natural elements, and skeleton balconies there is a man behind the surreal buildings (and park) remains relatively mysterious that I will be happy to help you discover
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
I will love to teach you a tradition that we have for Christmas time related with grapes... I can't say more!
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Spanish is the official languages in more than 20 countries which makes it an incredible opportunity to be able to speak it while travelling!
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I will say some people struggle with pronunciation and some grammar structures but I believe with practice anything can be learned.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
As a student I have always been curious of students that were from a different origin than mine. There is it where I create my base of respect for other cultures. I might not understand, or share the way we think, but I start any dialogue based on respect.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
As I am native I speak it every day but I have learnt so much while travelling in Mexico and how many differences in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar we do have! I want my students to be competent and able to communicate with someone from Spain, Colombia, Cuba or any other speaking Spanish country.
What makes you a Superprof in language?
I am very patient and friendly, I really want my students to feel comfortable and talk to me as I friend. I can assure them they will start practising speaking since day one
