About Ava

I have 10 years of experience teaching Spanish, supported by a Master of Arts in Spanish Language and Hispanic Studies. My passion for Spanish stems from its linguistic beauty, cultural richness, and global relevance. Over the years, I have guided students across proficiency levels, from beginners gaining foundational skills to advanced learners mastering academic, professional, or conversational excellence. Teaching Spanish allows me to combine linguistic instruction with cultural exploration, enabling students to communicate effectively and engage meaningfully with the Spanish-speaking world.

My approach emphasizes adaptability, patience, and interactive learning. Lessons integrate conversation, listening, reading, writing, and cultural discussions, providing a well-rounded skill set. I ensure students receive individualized feedback, practical exercises, and encouragement, helping them develop both competence and confidence. I aim to make every lesson engaging, supportive, and tailored to the student’s unique learning style and goals.

Outside teaching, I actively explore literature, media, travel, and linguistic research, enriching lessons with authentic and modern content. Witnessing students grow in fluency, confidence, and cultural understanding is immensely rewarding. My mission is to nurture expressive, capable, and culturally aware Spanish speakers who enjoy the language and continue learning independently throughout life.

About the lesson

Learning Spanish becomes exciting and meaningful when students experience the language through conversation, culture, grammar, and vocabulary. My lessons focus on building practical communication skills alongside cultural awareness, enabling students to speak confidently, understand context, and interpret nuances. I emphasize interactive methods including role-playing, storytelling, listening to authentic audio, discussion of literature, and practical exercises to foster both comprehension and expressive ability in a supportive, motivating environment.

Lesson plans are tailored to each learner’s level and interests. Beginners start with essential vocabulary, basic grammar, pronunciation, and everyday conversation skills, gradually building confidence. Intermediate students refine sentence structure, vocabulary range, listening comprehension, and conversational fluency, while exploring cultural topics and practical usage. Advanced learners focus on academic, professional, and nuanced communication, literary and cultural analysis, idiomatic expressions, and fluency in complex discussions.
