About Gillian
My interest in Spanish developed through cultural exploration, literature studies, and language learning during university education. I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages before earning a PhD in Hispanic Language Studies. Over the last 11 years, I have guided students toward stronger fluency through supportive teaching and practical communication methods.
I believe every learner deserves lessons that feel adaptable and encouraging according to their pace and communication goals. Some students improve through listening and speaking activities, while others benefit more from grammar explanation and structured exercises. My teaching style focuses on patience, encouragement, and natural language development.
Outside teaching, I enjoy reading Hispanic literature, exploring regional dialects, and participating in intercultural programs. Staying connected to Spanish culture helps me bring authentic examples into lessons. Teaching Spanish is rewarding because I enjoy helping students communicate naturally and confidently.

My Spanish lessons focus on helping students communicate confidently through practical speaking activities and structured language learning. I teach pronunciation, grammar foundations, vocabulary development, sentence construction, listening comprehension, and conversational Spanish using engaging exercises that make learning enjoyable and approachable. Lessons are interactive, encouraging, and designed for steady fluency growth.
Beginners strengthen their skills through pronunciation drills, repetition exercises, and simple guided dialogues that gradually improve communication confidence. Intermediate learners work on grammar accuracy, listening ability, and smoother conversational flow through roleplays and structured discussion tasks. Advanced students focus on natural communication, cultural understanding, and fluent expression through deeper conversational practice.
I encourage students to practice comfortably instead of worrying about mistakes during conversations. Lessons support curiosity, confidence, and practical language usage while helping learners improve naturally. My goal is to help students become expressive, relaxed, and confident while speaking Spanish.
