About Sela

I hold a B.A. in Spanish Linguistics and Latin American Studies and have 8 years of experience teaching Spanish to students across various proficiency levels. My approach integrates grammar, vocabulary, and conversational practice with cultural exploration, helping learners develop fluency, accuracy, and appreciation for Spanish-speaking communities. I emphasize creating an engaging, encouraging environment that motivates learners to explore language actively and confidently. I design lessons with dialogues, roleplay, grammar exercises, reading and writing tasks, and cultural discussions. Feedback is personalized, detailed, and constructive, supporting both language development and communicative confidence. Lessons are tailored to students’ goals, learning styles, and levels. Outside teaching, I engage with Spanish literature, media, and contemporary cultural practices to enrich lessons with authentic material. Teaching Spanish is deeply rewarding because I witness students gain fluency, cultural insight, and confidence. Supporting learners in achieving linguistic mastery while developing appreciation for the language and culture is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

About the lesson

Spanish lessons are most effective when learners actively engage with the language and its cultural context. I focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, and conversation, using interactive activities such as dialogues, roleplay, storytelling, and debates. Lessons incorporate cultural exploration, including literature, traditions, media, and contemporary society, making learning dynamic and relevant. I foster a supportive environment where students feel confident to experiment, ask questions, and refine their communication skills. Lessons blend structured instruction with immersive exercises to enhance comprehension, fluency, and expressive ability while building confidence in both academic and practical contexts.

Lesson plans are personalized. Beginners work on foundational grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple conversations. Intermediate students develop complex sentence construction, idiomatic expression, writing skills, and conversation fluency. Advanced learners focus on professional communication, essay writing, rapid comprehension, debate, and exam preparation. Each lesson integrates guided practice, constructive feedback, self-assessment, and interactive exercises, promoting independence and mastery.
