I love to be as hands-on as possible when it comes to tutoring other students. I think that the use of rapid vocabulary learning (a technique I learned from one of my first Spanish teachers who had previously learned at Middlebury College) is the most effective for quick vocabulary acquisition. In terms of learning grammar, sentence structure, verb usage, regional differences, etc. I believe in the use of past and current media (visual art, music, television, movies) are a great way for the student to learn about the language outside of the context of a workbook or lesson, while also providing a source of engaged learning that ties the actual cultures that speak the language more closely with the student learning it.
I'm a college grad in Spanish and Latin American studies. I've taught a variety of high school and college students from levels Spanish I to Spanish 3. I stayed in Chile for 7 months in 2017 after studying the language for 8+ years and am now completely fluent
