About Milagros
I am from Argentina, but I have been living in the United States since 2021. Before moving to the US, I finished my studies (Ph.D. in Linguistics) at the University of Buenos Aires. Spanish is my native language, and I also have a professional level of English and Brazilian Portuguese. I have taught Spanish for more than 10 years, both in Buenos Aires and (now) in the DC area. My teaching experience has included individual lessons for adults, classes in an after-school program for Elementary School, group classes at the university (GW), and virtual tutoring for people from all around the world. If you come to take classes with me, our classes will be personalized according to your experience, your interests, and your goals with the Spanish language. I have taught adults of all levels, with methods that focus on improving (and understanding) grammar or "polishing" pronunciation, but also with others that prioritize communication above all. From my experience, I know that every class and every student will be different, but my approach is to help you and guide you along the way, always with humor and enthusiasm!
After each class, I share the materials we have used and a summary of the topics/vocabulary/grammar we have learned. If you want more practice, I am also happy to recommend exercises or additional materials (videos, podcasts, music, articles) to do in your free time.
