I am a retired certified Spanish teacher in the state of Arizona. My focus would be for the beginner or intermediate learner of Spanish by connecting language one (English) with Spanish. There are many words that are the same or similar in both languages. Focusing on this can speed up the acquisition of the new language and instill a sense of accomplishment in the new learner.
