About Marisa

I started exploring the Spanish language in the 6th grade and I just had a love to learn new languages and explore different cultures. My grandfather spoke 5 different languages and traveled the world. A love and appreciation for other cultures and languages is absolutely in my genes. I studied for years and finally had the opportunity to immerse myself in the Spanish language and culture when I studied abroad at La Universidad de Salamanca in Spain when I was in college. This is where I really developed the confidence to speak Spanish even though I wasn't a native Spanish Speaker. I graduated with a Minor in Spanish and Major in Sociology and I have my Master's in Education w/ a certificate in School Counseling. I work full-time as a School Counselor in a predominantly Spanish speaking school district and the ability to communicate in multiple languages with my students, parents, and staff is such a valuable asset to my career and in life.

About the lesson

Exciting and always evolving! Learning a new language can be so much fun and helpful in life and your career! With me it's a JUDGMENT FREE ZONE and a place for you to explore, experience, and practice without feeling judged, pressured, or criticized. Helping those that may be timid but eager to learn!

Marisa was an amazing tutor ! I wanted to learn Spanish before my last trip to Puerto Rico and within a couple of months of classes I was able to reach my goal and order food in Spanish and feel comfortable talking with relatives ! Would definitely recommend her ! She makes it easy and fun to learn !
