About Tess

I completed a PhD in Spanish Linguistics and Cultural Studies after developing a strong interest in communication, language education, and intercultural learning during my academic journey. Over the past 4 years, I have guided students from different backgrounds and skill levels, helping them improve their Spanish through supportive instruction and practical communication methods. Teaching Spanish allows me to combine mentorship, creativity, and cultural learning in a rewarding and meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners express themselves naturally and confidently in another language.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, adaptability, and communication-centred learning. Some students improve best through grammar-focused exercises and structured repetition, while others respond more naturally to conversation and interactive speaking activities. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s comfort level, confidence, and communication goals. Along with technical language development, I help students strengthen pronunciation, listening ability, vocabulary retention, and conversational fluency. Creating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as an educator.

Outside teaching, I enjoy reading international literature, exploring Spanish cinema, and learning about cultural traditions that help me bring fresh ideas into lessons regularly. These experiences help students connect language learning with real-life communication and cultural understanding. One of the most fulfilling parts of teaching is seeing students communicate naturally in situations that once felt unfamiliar or difficult.

About the lesson

My Spanish lessons help students build strong communication skills while improving confidence through practical and engaging language activities. I teach pronunciation, grammar structure, vocabulary usage, sentence formation, listening comprehension, and conversational fluency using explanations that feel simple and approachable for learners at every stage. Lessons also include speaking practice, storytelling exercises, roleplays, listening tasks, and cultural discussions that help students understand how Spanish is used naturally in everyday situations. I create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable practising openly and improving steadily without fear of mistakes. Every lesson supports communication growth, confidence, and long-term language development together.

Beginners focus on greetings, pronunciation basics, common vocabulary, and simple sentence patterns through organised repetition and interactive activities that build confidence gradually. Intermediate learners strengthen grammar understanding, conversational flow, listening accuracy, and response timing through guided discussions and practical communication exercises. Advanced students focus on smoother fluency, natural expression, and stronger communication skills for travel, work, or academic situations. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, personality, and language goals so progress remains balanced and encouraging throughout the learning process.

Learning Spanish should feel enjoyable, practical, and meaningful. I encourage students to use the language actively instead of depending only on memorisation methods. Many learners become more expressive and confident communicators as their language abilities continue improving naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen practical fluency while appreciating the richness and cultural beauty connected to the Spanish language.
