About Vicky

I'm passionate about languages and culture! Having lived in many cities in Latin America, as well as in the US and in the UK, I've gained a lot of cultural awareness and appreciation towards language varieties. About my academic background: I have a BA in Modern Languages, a BA in Marketing, a Masters in Linguistics for Language Teaching (UK) and a Masters in Higher Education and Research. I'm a certified/sworn English-Spanish translator and interpreter. I also teach Phonetics and Linguistics at university level, therefore I can help my students to improve their pronunciation skills with technical knowledge. I've worked at international schools in London and Cambridge. I have tutored Spanish for the past 14 years for all levels. I enjoy teaching and would be more than happy to help you get top marks and/or speak Spanish on your next holidays. I hold an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check.

About the lesson

I keep a dynamic learning environment where you can gain language skills at your own pace. I use interactive online materials, videos, e-books, and audio-visual aids. Fun speaking games and vocabulary quizzes have proved to be successful and engaging. You will have access to my virtual classroom to practice Spanish daily with fun resources in your own time. I'm a dedicated teacher who will apply the right methodology for you to have the best learning experience. My lessons cover the use of languages in real-life contexts (great for those who go on holidays to Spain or Latin America!), written comprehension and lots of speaking practice. For GCSE and A-levels Spanish (AQA, Edexcel, IGCSE) we focus on grammar, past papers, speaking, reading and listening activities. I mark the written assignments so we can discuss how to improve them. All of the students I have worked with over the years have got top marks! I also tutor for the Scottish Highers and Oxford's Modern Languages Admissions Tests (MLAT). I tutor all levels - young and mature, graduate and postgraduate and people who are retired and are looking for an exciting new hobby. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, I'm happy to design bespoke lessons for you!
