About Susana
Hello! I’m a passionate and dedicated Spanish instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching at both the university and secondary levels in Canada and Europe. I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish Sociolinguistics from Mannheim University in Germany and a Master’s in Applied Linguistics in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Spain. I love helping students discover the richness of the Spanish language and the diverse cultures it represents. My classes are dynamic, clear, and student-centered. I strive to create a welcoming and motivating environment where learners feel supported and confident from day one. As a university-level Spanish professor with over 15 years of experience, I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s needs—whether they are absolute beginners, intermediate learners, or advanced students preparing for academic or professional goals.

I focus on developing all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing), while integrating grammar, vocabulary, and cultural insights in an engaging and meaningful way. I place special emphasis on oral expression and listening comprehension, as they are key to building confidence.
