About Aj

AJ has studied Spanish for over two decades. He currently works with Mariposas Sin Fronteras and T4T Empowerment where he is required to communicate in Spanish with his co-workers and clients. In addition, he communicates in Spanish daily in his personal life and is able to teach the differences between more “professional” and “standard” Spanish versus more “casual” Spanish that one may use with friends. AJ is passionate about teaching languages because he believes that relationship-building is the backbone to creating a more equitable future, and learning more languages allows one to relationship-build with more people.

About the lesson

AJ creates nonjudgmental and interactive spaces that explore learning Spanish through muscle memory instead of traditional flash cards, which are often ineffective. AJ provides a variety of creative exercise techniques such as drawing, listening to songs, watching videos, and games.
