About Alaska
I was born in Spain. My father is a Spaniard and we have cousins, aunts, and uncles throughout southern Spain. My soul's quest has always been to develop a deeper understanding of Hispanic culture and language. I completed a double degree in Spanish language and Education and became a high school Spanish teacher. I also teach a summer program at a local elementary school. I have been fortunate to have traveled throughout Spain and several Latin American countries.
My life's goal is to spread knowledge of the beautiful hispanic culture to as many people as possible. My enthusiasm has inspired many to continue on their own educational journey with the language and culture. I am a fun and creative teacher that can reach students on their levels and base the curriculum around their interests.

Language has traditionally been acquired across cultures through music and story telling and I abide by these traditions. Once we establish your base level, we will find fun songs and cultural stories to improve your language skills. In addition, we will practice the language through writing, reading, grammar practice. We will use movies or video clips to enhance your understanding. We will move at your pace and reinforce where needed. I can teach K-12 learners from beginning to advance.
