About Rachael
I am a professional educator with a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelors degree in Spanish Education who has been successfully engaging hundreds of local high school students in the Spanish language and culture for the past ten years. By using the language to make connections with student interests my lessons are rated excellent by both my students themselves and my administrators. My Advanced Placement Spanish students have all scored above and beyond on their exams after being in my course; most of them receiving a 4 or 5.

My teaching method is to first connect students with the way in which they learn best and then base my lessons on these methods as much as possible. For example, do you learn best by hearing? Speaking? Are you a visual learner? Then, I plan my lessons by incorporating the most recent language acquisition research; including story telling, movement, and contextualized practice. As much as possible, I connect my lessons to student interests and needs.
